Miss World 2019 Toni-Ann Singh en visite officielle à Maurice

Fraîchement élue en décembre lors du concours qui s’est tenu à Londres, la Miss World 2019,Toni-Ann Singh est arrivée à Maurice tôt mercredi matin en compagnie Mme Julia Evelyn Morley, présidente du concours international et d’autres membres du comité organisateur. Ils ont été accueillis à l’aéroport Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam par le directeur de la Mauritius Tourism Authority, M. Arvind Bundhun avant de se diriger vers l’hôtel Dinarobin Beachcomber où ils résideront jusqu’au samedi 25 janvier.

Toni-Ann Singh's visit is part of the promotion of Mauritius as tourist destination. The Minister of Tourism, Mr. Georges Pierre Lesjongard, was to meet Miss World and the delegation of the competition at midday before hosting a press conference. During her stay in Mauritius, Toni-Ann Singh will go to La Gaulette primary government school on Thursday before going to visit the Terres de Sept couleurs in Chamarel and Le Morne.

Toni-Ann Singh was born in Morant Bay, St. Thomas in Jamaica and recently graduated from Florida State University (FSU). She immigrated to the United States 14 years ago. She wants to continue studying medicine and become a doctor. Toni-Ann Singh is the fourth Miss World of Jamaican origin. The Miss World contest is the oldest existing international beauty contest, founded in the United Kingdom in 1951 by the late Eric Morley.
