Mauritian boundaries closed for 15 days

Following three reported cases of COVID-19 in Mauritius as at date and in line with the established protocols by the World health Organisation, the patients have been placed in isolation for treatment and proper case management. 

The Mauritian Authorities have, consequently, taken the following decisions :

  • As from 06H00 GMT (10h00 local time) this Thursday, 19 March 2020, borders will be closed for the next 15 days for all passengers (local and international) arriving on the territory.
  • All passengers, Mauritian and International, arriving before this deadline, i.e. 06H00 GMT (10h00 local time), will be placed automatically in quarantine.
  • Passengers who  wish to leave the Mauritian territories are advised to contact their respective travel agencies or airline companies for flight re-scheduling.
