Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) Showcases the Island’s Unique Experiences at Roadshows in Spain and Portugal

The Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) successfully concluded a dynamic promotional mission across Spain and Portugal from 17 to 23 February 2026, strengthening its presence in key European markets and deepening relationships with travel trade partners.

Four‑City Roadshow in Spain 🇪🇸

In Spain, MTPA participated in a four‑city roadshow organized by W2M, the charter operator that will connect Mauritius and Madrid with weekly direct flights from July to September 2026.

The roadshow began in Sevilla, continuing through Malaga, Valencia, and Alicante, attracting a strong turnout of travel professionals eager to expand their knowledge of long‑haul destinations.

During each stop, the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) delivered an engaging destination presentation that brought to life the island’s breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and renowned hospitality. The sessions highlighted Mauritius’ diverse portfolio of authentic experiences, from adventure and wellness to gastronomy and luxury stays. By offering Spanish travel agent’s deeper insights into the island’s unique offerings, MTPA empowered them to design more inspiring and memorable holiday packages for their clients.

Solférias Roadshow in Portugal 🇵🇹

MTPA also took part in the Solférias Roadshow held in Porto and Lisbon, two of Portugal’s most influential travel markets. The event welcomed around 300 travel agents, all keen to discover new and inspiring destinations. Mauritius stood out as a destination combining pristine beaches, world‑class hospitality, and a wide array of authentic cultural and nature‑based experiences.

Strengthening Market Presence

Participation in these two major trade events reinforces Mauritius’ commitment to the Iberian market. With the upcoming direct charter flights from Madrid and growing interest from Portuguese travelers, the island is well‑positioned to welcome more visitors seeking meaningful and enriching travel experiences.

MTPA will continue to collaborate closely with tour operators, airlines, and travel agents to ensure Mauritius remains a top‑of‑mind destination for European travelers.
